Gainesville Gains Eco-Friendly Health Center
Residents of Gainesville, Florida, will soon have access to an exciting new medical facility that’s not only efficient in its treatment of patients, but also in its use of energy. The $36 million, 72,000-square-foot University of Florida Health Springhill medical office building will bring internal medicine, family practice, child psychiatry, and several other practices together under one roof, enabling better continuity of care.
The facility is designed and will be constructed according to stringent sustainability standards. Expansive windows will enable natural light to stream into the building as automated blinds offer shade from the sun. High-efficiency lighting, heating, cooling, and insulation systems, as well as low water-use landscaping, will lessen the building’s environmental footprint and provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for patients.
This project is moving forward under general contractor CPPI, with subcontractor Central Florida Drywall and distributor INEX of Gainesville, and is scheduled for completion in August of 2018.
Century Apartments
Under general contractor Royal American Construction Company, the Century Apartments, in Century, FL, are well underway. Triple J Drywall is working with SteelCon products to frame this project, with materials delivered by Rosen Materials of Pensacola. The job site involves a combination of wood and steel framing, with concrete masonry units comprising the exterior walls.
Inn Business with SteelCon
Foster Construction, a Miami-based contracting firm, is using SteelCon products on a drywall project at the Fairfield Inn in sunny Crestview, FL. Rosen Materials of Pensacola supplied the materials.
Orlando, FL
Steel Construction Systems provided the steel for the University of Central Florida Interdisciplinary Research and Incubator Facility. Phase one of this project covers 67,000 square feet over three floors. The building includes 31 research and incubator laboratories. Charles Perry Partners is the general contractor, Kenpat Construction the subcontractor and Allied Building Materials was the distributor.
